After four wonderful years at G.H.S. I moved to Pleasanton, Kansas.  I met my ex husband, Frank McCulley during the two years that I worked for Bradmoore Garment Factory.  We moved to Norfolk, VA as Frank was a sailor stationed on the Intrepid.  We lived in Norfolk from May 1964 until December 1965.

I was not happy being away from all my friends and family, as Frank spent so much time on board the ship.  With Frank's help, I moved back to Kansas and two weeks later I was living in Springfield, Missouri.  I worked at American Linen, a commercial laundry, for 16 years.  During this time I had my wonderful son.  His name is Darrell Lee.  He was born in 1967 and lives in San Francisco, CA where he works for ATT cell phone company.  It wasn't easy raising a son by myself, but well worth it.

I have worked for many motels and restaurants over the years including Evangel College for 4 years.

In 1990 I had to stop work after being disabled by my arthritis.  I moved in with my best friend as the doctor said I could not live alone.  In 2001, my friend and I bought a new house in Lebanon, MO.  I love it here, small town and very nice house.

Last year I attended a grade school reunion in Hepler.  It was great seeing lots of classmates and friends.  I am looking forward to our reunion in June.  Hope to see you there.

Ruth Bordwell.
