Classmates, After high school I attended Kansas State College, now Pittsburg State University, graduating with a major in math and minor in physical education. I lettered in both football and track and field four years. In 1976 I completed a masters in guidance and counseling there. While in college I met my future wife, Judy Cremer of Pittsburg. We married in 1970 and have a son Brett and a daughter Betsy. Brett teaches and coaches in Cassville, Mo. and Betsy works with an animal control firm in Kansas City. Upon graduation I worked five years for Amoco Production Co. (Standard Oil) in Tulsa, Okla. This was a job as a computer programmer in the information service dept. Giving up the city, we moved to Neosho, Mo. for five years. There I taught math in the high school and coached track and field, football and cross country. In 1978 we moved to the University of Kansas for one year. At K.U. I was an assistant men’s track and field coach. I worked with the sprinters and hurdlers. In the spring the team won the Big 8 championship. In the summer of 1979 we moved to Monett, Mo. where we remain. I have taught math in the high school and am presently the elementary school counselor. I have coached football at high and middle school and have remained the high school track and field coach through out the years. I have remained active with running, (ran one marathon) lifting weights and raising horses. We have seven registered quarter horses and I break all of our own colts. We are enjoying our life and looking forward to retirement. Update June 2008
I have been retired
from counseling at school for three years, but have remained as
track & field coach at high school and assistant football coach at
eight grade. Next year will be my last year as track & field coach
and this was my last year in football. My son Brett coaches and
teaches in Dexter Mo. and my daughter Betsy works in Kansas City at
a pharmaceutical research center. My wife Judy and I will be
married 38 years in Aug. She has been retired from teaching
for four years. We are enjoying retirement.
