UPDATE April
2008:
After graduation
I attended Parsons Junior College on a football
scholarship. Roger Zettl was my roommate. We must have
been a hard act to follow because they eliminated the
football program after our first year. The next year I
attended Pittsburg State College working as an ambulance
driver at night. I transferred to Washburn University in
Topeka for my 3rd year of college and graduated
in 1968 with a Bachelor of Science in Medical Technology. I
began my career working in hospital labs in Topeka.
My career took
me back to Parsons, Kansas to work in the hospital lab from
1970 to 1975. Judy and I then made the decision to move to
Colorado and I began a new career in laboratory equipment
sales. I’ve been a sales rep for almost 30 years. I’ve
been fortunate to travel to all 50 states and enjoy a
rewarding career and, of course, live in the beautiful Rocky
Mountains! I am currently employed as an Systems
Integration Specialist with HoribaABX. In essence that
means labs buy hematology and chemistry equipment and I go
in and train the staff. There is lots of travel, nearly
every week, but I am enjoying it and see all the US and
Puerto Rico.
In 1966 Judy
Murphy, class of 1965, and I were married. We just
celebrated our 41st year of marriage and it gets better
every year. Judy decided to stop working after 16 years at
the same job and stepped away from the education political
arena. She now looks for walls to paint, does all the yard
work and keeps me organized in my office. We have gotten
very interested in spending time in Puerto Rico and plan to
explore that option after retirement. We look forward to
traveling with retirement looming on the horizon.
We have 4 grown
children and 6 grandchildren. We are now empty nesters, but
during the “full house” years I coached my boys in
recreational and competitive soccer, attended many wrestling
matches and tournaments, as well as, lots of dance recitals.
Greg lives in
Denver. He attended the University of Colorado and
University of Northern Colorado. Greg is a sales rep for a
restaurant supply company, Restaurant Sources in Denver.
Greg is married to Dina, who has a cake decorating company.
They have 2 boys, Nathan who is 10 and Aidan who just turned
6.
Mark is 32, lives
in Newton, KS where he graduated from Bethel College.
His wife, Debbie, is a vice president for a local bank. Mark
is a sales rep for Envision in Wichita. Mark has a son,
Sam, age 11 and a daughter Julia, age 9.
Scott lives in
Parker, Colorado, and is a admissions counselor for
University of Phoenix. Scott graduated from Beloit College
in Beloit, WI. Scott is married to Holly, an elementary
school teacher. They have a daughter, Aubrey, age 5 and a
son Jackson, age 3.
Jill lives in
Westminster, CO. She attended the University of Northern
Colorado and Metro State. Jill is employed as a purchasing
agent for a Mile High Appliance, who supply appliances to
home builders. She is engaged to Nick. The wedding is June
29, 2008.
We have included
some pictures of our grandchildren, as well as, the other
children. Bandit is the Siberian Husky and Chloe is, well,
just say a black lab mix. They make us walk about 3 miles a
day and don't know what we'd do without them.

Sorry to miss
everyone this reunion.
