SAM CHARLES WUTKE
Sam Charles Wutke, age 61, resident of Fort Scott, Kansas, died Friday,
March 16, 2007, at Mercy Health Center following a lengthy illness. He was
born December 22, 1945, in Columbia, Missouri, the son of Clarence S. (Red)
Wutke and Nelle Virginia Cornelison Wutke. Sam was a 1963 graduate of Girard
High School. He attended Independence Community College on an athletic
scholarship and graduated from Pittsburg State University. He married
Catherine Cuthbertson on November 24, 1966, at Girard. Sam was a freelance
photographer prior to his illness. The couple moved from Shawnee Mission,
Kansas, to Fort Scott in 1995. He was a member of the Village Presbyterian
Church in Shawnee Mission. Sam was an avid Pittsburg State University and
Girard Trojan fan. He loved all sports.Survivors include his wife, Cathy of
the home; his Mother, Nelle Wutke of Girard; three brothers, Ron Wutke and
Dave Wutke and wife Robin, all of Girard, and Steve Wutke and wife Betty,
Springfield, Missouri. Also surviving are four nieces, Cheryl Michelet,
Kristin Weis, Lindsey Schneider, Angie Hickman; and five nephews, Drew
Wutke, Sam Wutke, Brent Crawford, Lance Reeves, and Dane Wutke; and nine
great nieces and great nephews. He was preceded in death by his father,
several aunts and uncles.Rev. Jared Witt and Rev. Steve Cole will conduct
funeral services at 2:00 P.M. Monday at the Girard United Methodist Church.
The Eulogy will be given by Steve Wutke. Burial will be in the Girard
Cemetery. |
