Welcome to my site.

As you may guess from the background and format I am a wood carver and turner. Some of my carvings and turnings are shown under Woodcarving and Turning Projects.  I enjoy carving in the round but I also do relief and chip carving.  I also do wood turning; check out some of my bowls, ornaments, and pens.

I just completed some golfers, mountain men, a full image cowboy, and a couple of native American carvings.  Be sure to check mountain man Eli's baby book.  It has pictures of his delivery and various stages of his development.  Check them out!

I am a member of the St. Charles Area Woodcarvers.  Check out our club web site.  It is a member of the fine woodcarvers link and will take you to over 170 great links.

Are you interested in learning to carve.  Our club provides instruction through the adult education training with the St. Peters' Community and Art Center.  Classes are available for beginners and intermediate carvers.  My intermediate class just completed a Gerald Sears rough out of his cowboy Santa.  Watch for mailings or contact me for more information (636.928.0149).

Try this link to the National Wood Carvers Association.  My entry in our club Wonders of Wood show is featured in the March-April 1999 issue of Chip Chats!

If you are looking for other carvers on the web, check out the Woodcarvers BBS and Collins Wood Industry Directory.

I am also working on my family genealogy.  My study to date is shown.  I would appreciate any feedback that you have to expand my research.  If you are doing research on the SAPP, PEAK, WINTERBOWER, or WESTHOFF lineage please contact me.

Gary Welker has software that does an excellent job of processing GEDCOM files into an ancestor tree and family groupsheets in HTML format.

Hepler Grade School

We're from Hepler and couldn't be prouder .... We're from Hepler and couldn't be prouder ....We're from Hepler and couldn't be prouder

Lots of people go back to high school reunions.  But how many have ever had a grade school reunion.  Especially one that had a typical grade size of 8 to 10 people.  Well Hepler had a reunion.  Classmates from over 50 years ago and from 1000s of miles away attended.  Pictures from the reunion and the 4th of July parade have been posted on the reunion page.

And did you know that there is a Hepler Historical Society?  For a token membership fee of $5 you receive a fantastic newsletter published by Rhonda Kmiec.  Rhonda is the postmaster in Hepler; contact her to sign up.  Rhonda, MaryAnn Kiser and others do a great job of compiling information on Hepler.  Did you know that the Hepler's have a reunion on August 10th, 2002 in Pitman, Pennsylvania (reservations are required if you want to eat)?

Girard High School

And be sure to check out our family home page TheSapps.com.    Each family member, including our golden retreiver, Molly, has their own page.  Sadly, Molly passed away.  We have also included pictures from some of our trips.  Recently pictures include our family cruise in the Caribbean and my business trip to Singapore
